Cold Ducks

When we were in Montpelier on Monday, I heard quacking on the Winooski River and found these mallards waiting out the storm on ice in the river. Some were covered with a light film of snow while others were swimming. In the top photo you can see the beautiful stone work of the old houses on the river.

  1. What wonderful pictures. I miss Vermont so much. Doing a trip in April for family wedding and hope to head up that way-wedding in Rutland. I haven't been blogging in an age. Hope you are well and knitting!

  2. Poor little things. Years ago when I was living in New Zealand, there was a very popular, cheap red wine could Cold Duck. Cheap but quite palatable and the title of your post reminded me of it. I had forgotten all about that wine.
